Munis pay at least R 1.50 per kWh I guess, so total daily loss is more like R 55 m, to munis and Eskom.

There are so many aspects of the whole electricity sector, generation, transmission, distribution and sales that are in a total mess.
The IRP 2023 of the DMRE is a disaster, but fortunately the electricity plans of the MPC the multi party charter are quite good.
